Wilson, committee crafting ethics bill

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Tony Messenger has a breakdown of the job lying before Rep. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, and his special committee as it deals with more than a dozen ethics bills in an effort to provide one:

"My intent is to come out of here with a bill we can be proud of," Wilson said. "I don't want a watered-down bill."

Wilson, of course, can't control what happens after the bill leaves his committee and hits the floors of the House and Senate, places where bipartisanship is often left at the doors to the chambers.

Isn't that what a democracy is? All sides are to be heard?
