Speck clears up misconceptions about media blackout

If you are looking for evidence that Missouri Southern State University President Bruce Speck is taking a detour from reality, look no further than the article by Luke Taylor of The Chart, which was posted Friday on The Carthage Press website:

However, Speck does not think Southern’s media policy, which he began enforcing in March, makes his office any less transparent. Under the policy, requests for interviews with Speck are redirected to University Relations and Marketing.
Speck has rejected every interview request to his office since March 29.
“There is a misconception, somehow, that I know everything about this campus,” he said. “There’s a great deal I don’t know…we’re attempting as best we can to give you to the people you need to get the best answers.”
I hate to break the news to Speck but there is no misconception that he knows everything about the campus. What has yet to be determined is if he knows anything.

Indeed, it would be a misconception to think he knew ANYTHING on campus!

Hey, kids, WHAT TIME IS IT?

(A: Time for Speck to go.)
