Circuit clerk loans $5,000 to her re-election campaign

A termination statement filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission indicates incumbent Jasper County Circuit Clerk Linda Williams raised $6,200 during the past quarter, with $5,000 of that coming from her own pocket.

Out of the other $1,200, the largest amount, $500, came from Joplin attorney Glenn Gulick.

Ms. Williams' challenger, Melissa Holcomb, raised $6,881 during the last quarter and spent $6,715.78, leaving her with $714.22 in her account at the end of the reporting period.

Does anyone else find it a conflict of interest that Ms. Holcomb's husband works for the court system?

Yes, I agree. I would like to know Ms. Holcomb's views on having domestic partners and bi-racial relationships.

No i don't find it a conflict of interest at all. During the campaign all of the interest are separated. They don't even have a sign in their yard!

WHY CAN MS WILLIAMS NEVER GO TO WORK BUT CAN TAKE THAT BIG CHECK FROM TAX PAYERS? WE NEED SOMEONE WHO TAKES JOB SERIOUS AND WORK EIGHT HOURS A DAY AND GIVE TAX PAYERS THEIR MONEYS WORTH.

Man O man!!! Peoples eyes need to be opened up to the seriousness of this. What tax payer would want to elect a person that is never at work. Come on people... Really? and almost 70 years old.. When is the person gonna retire?
