Goodman: I am deeply disappointed to see this taxpayer shakdown pass

Sen. Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, issued the following statement concerning the passage of the
Ford incentive package:

“The government should never be in the business of picking winners and losers. Just as I personally oppose the federal bailout of auto companies and Wall Street executives, and spending billions on a failed stimulus package, as a state Senator I cannot support this new spending that we cannot afford. I am deeply disappointed to see this taxpayer shakedown pass in spite of our opposition and efforts. The last year and a half of President Obama's failed economic policies have proven that you can't spend your way out of a recession, and it's not fair for people in southwest Missouri to continue footing the bill for these government giveaways."

I agree with you but this raises a very important question.

If you do not have enough influence in Jefferson City to stop this type of fiscal insanity, you damn-sure won't have any influence in Washington, am I not correct?

You need to keep your training pants on for a few years, get some experience in the real business world and then come back with some proven credentials.

Do you hear that Mavis?

Thanks to the shakdown failure guy, when the payer shells out 20 bucks for a lap dance, the payee cannot get within six feet of you.

Kind of takes the fun out of it, don't you think?

Really? You are going to attack him for trying to stop this welfare? What about Nodler who didnt event have the courage to show up or Long who was going to run in 96 but was too busy gambling?

It seems like you need the training pants so you dont wet yourself come election day.

You're in the 'show' position. Enjoy it while you can.

He was not effective with his jabber in jeff city. Why send his jabber to d.c.?

He directly reflects the people who are supporting him. Lots of 'smarts' will very few 'clues'.

Jack Goodman is a job killer. His bill the restrict the adult entertainment businesses in Missouri will no nothing but cost people money and jobs. What kind of business will he want to regulate next. I will not be supporting him in this election.

There are pole dancers and then there are political poll dancers.

Jack don't like pole dancers and the poll dancer Sarah Steelman broke his heart by supporting Long.

I'd just about imagine that poor Sarah will regret the day she has to apologize to the people in the 29th Senate District to ask for their support to be the poll dancing Governor of Missouri, or whatever she hopes to become.

Jack's little campaign needs to give it up, pack it up and shut up.
