Other than a mild dustup between Bill White and Linda Dreyer and Steve Hunter's comparing Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler, the only fireworks at the Lincoln Ladies Ice Cream Social Monday night at Memorial Hall in Carthage were provided by the candidates for circuit clerk.
As you can see in the accompanying video, Linda Williams, the incumbent, says she is doing a great job and asks the voters to send it back. Challenger Melissa Holcomb claims that Ms. Williams' management of the office has kept Jasper County behind nearly every other county in the state as far as providing relevant information to taxpayers is concerned:
