Long has most money left, but Goodman, Nodler both in six figures

While of the three major candidates in the Seventh District Congressional race, Billy Long had the most money left in his campaign account at the end of the second quarter with $385,037, Sen. Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, still has the money to operate full steam for the rest of the primary campaign with $207,162.89.

Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, is trailing with $128,234.

Much of Long's money is being spent on consultants, according to his disclosure report, filed today with the Federal Election Commission. He paid Axiom Strategies $7,843.46 and J. Harris Company, $16,112.42. Another $71,623 went to Strategic Media Services for television advertising, and $39,543 went to Rising Tide Media Group, Arlington, Va. for a media shoot and campaign advertising production.

Nodler spent slightly over $38,000 to advertise on Springfield televisions, according to his report.

Billy Long has the dough to go and has this thing bought, bagged and ready to ship.

I love it that he is using out-of-district people to tell him who, what, where, when and forget the why because he would never underestand it.

One of the candidate's attempts to have his campaign manager feed information to longiswrong.com has done nothing but strengthen Long's position and proves that people are 'fed up' with that youngster's antics.

Billy has the 'mojo' at this stage of the campaign. He's the candidate people are talking about at the coffee shop.

His 'fed up' got people's attention. His current TV shows him as a regular guy willing to go to work.

He's got signs at every crossroads in the district. Most of them on state right-of-way but at least he has signs up.

We better get used to him because he is going to win. I just hope he doesn't try to be another Mel Hancock. That would be a bad, sad mistake.

So this is the guy that is just "common folk" and going to change things!!!!!! Don't kid yourself, he is just another politician in the making. Once he gets to Jeff City, the deal making begins. Tell me one person that hasn't been overcome by that environment.

You are correct, Billy is the candidate that people are talking about in the coffee shop.

Except it is not positive. He is a buffoon, a cliche--- the anti-career politician who is acting like a career politician...look at his endorsements, look where he spends his money.

On a recent drive down Highway to Aurora, I saw several big Billy Long signs and they were all on the right-of-way...which is a big no-no.

It's out of state kids he has hired via James Harris and Jeff Roe to run the roads and put up signs.

Long's attitude is it's the public's property, screw the rules and regulations people. Have you ever seen the signs and how he treats the right of way for his auctions. Same "I'm King" attitude.

Don't worry about him picking the signs up after the Primary Election. That bunch will be LONG gone.

Let me ask you one question. Had you ever seen Billy Long before the campaign exhibiting his 'fed up' attitude or deep concern for the area outside of Springfield?

The answer is NO and you will not see his fat a___(behind) again, even if he wins. He'll take that attitude from the Hancock playbook.

We back Jack.

Does Jack Goodman even know how to get to Springfield? Joplin? He wouldn't even be able to find Neosho if his girlfriend Marilyn wasn't driving. I'll take an auctioneer any day over a scumbag lawyer/aspiring career politician or a career politician/whatever Nodler does when he isn't sucking from the public teat.

Funny thing about Goodman's travel acumen. When he was assistant to the assistant prosecuting attorney, young Jack (after failing in launching a 'small business' law office) was dispatched to Cedar County Courthouse to plead a case.

He could not find Stockton. Straight up Hwy. 39, Jack. Right where it's always been.

You people really want to send another millionaire to congress? Yeah, I don't think that someone living in a gated communite can really connect with the lower middle class of Joplin like me.

Nodler is a condecending *****. One of the worst people I've met in my life and didn't even have the decency to do his JOB and represent Joplin in the Senate during special session.

And then you disqualify someone because they went to school and studied law? You better get used to having Jack Goodman as your congressman because theres no way in hell he's gonna lose.

I definitely think Long's momentum is on the downhill slide. Goodman is on the uptick. The key will be what happens in Joplin and Springfield. I think if Long loses, a lot will have to do with Darrell Moore being in the race. If Nodler doesn't pick up massive votes in Joplin, then where those votes go to makes a huge difference, too.
