While of the three major candidates in the Seventh District Congressional race, Billy Long had the most money left in his campaign account at the end of the second quarter with $385,037, Sen. Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, still has the money to operate full steam for the rest of the primary campaign with $207,162.89.
Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, is trailing with $128,234.
Much of Long's money is being spent on consultants, according to his disclosure report, filed today with the Federal Election Commission. He paid Axiom Strategies $7,843.46 and J. Harris Company, $16,112.42. Another $71,623 went to Strategic Media Services for television advertising, and $39,543 went to Rising Tide Media Group, Arlington, Va. for a media shoot and campaign advertising production.
Nodler spent slightly over $38,000 to advertise on Springfield televisions, according to his report.
