Speaker of the House Richard contributes $5,000 to Jane Cunningham

It looks as if Ron Richard is working on building power in the Senate the same way he did in the House- through the power of the pocketbook.

Richard, who faces no opposition in the primary or general election in his bid for 32nd District State Senate, contributed $5,000 to the re-election campaign of Sen. Jane Cunningham, R-Chesterfield, July 2, according to Missouri Ethics Commission records.

Mrs. Cunningham, as regular readers of The Turner Report know, is probably the number one enemy of public education in the state legislature, so naturally the leadership keeps putting her on the Education committees.

Richard has made other contributions to Senate campaigns, following a pattern he employed at the House, when he gave bundles to Republican House candidates and to the House Republican Campaign Committee, paving the way for his elevation to Speaker.
