GateHouse Media, still in debt, outlook gloomy

GateHouse Media filed its quarterly report with the SEC today, and it is business as usual for the newspaper company.

It's deeply in debt, still cutting, planning "synergy", (such as the recent moves to shut down numerous printing plants in Missouri, including sending the printing for one newspaper to Nebraska) and leaving unsaid any pledges to improve the publications.

GateHouse Media owns The Carthage Press, Neosho Daily News, and Pittsburg Morning Sun, among more than 300 newspapers.
