Another Blunt in the lobbying business- Matt Blunt to be named president of auto lobbying group

The Detroit News reports that former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt will be named president of the Automotive Policy Council, making him the top lobbyist for the big three automobile companies:

Blunt hasn't return several phone calls from The News over the past week. An announcement has been drafted and is expected to be released this morning.

The council, whose members are General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC, was created in October 2009 to "promote the unique and significant economic contribution of the U.S.-based auto companies to the American economy."

The group also advocates for U.S. manufacturing, according to the group's website.

Lobbying continues to be a family business for the Blunts. Blunt's brother Andrew and sister Amy are lobbyists, while his father, Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo. is married to a lobbyist.
