Winter weather advisory issued for Joplin area

It does not sound half as bad as what we went through a couple of weeks ago, but a winter weather advisory has been issued for southwest Missouri. From the National Weather Service:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR FREEZING DRIZZLE...FOG...AND LIGHTSNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST SATURDAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...AREAS WEST AND NORTH OF AN OSCEOLA TO GREENFIELD TO JOPLIN LINE THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...A DUSTING OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS INTO THE TRUMAN LAKE REGION FROM LATETONIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...A THIN GLAZE OF ICE IS EXPECTED ON EXPOSED SURFACES. * VISIBILITY...FOG WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES DOWN TO A HALF MILE ORLESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...SLICK SPOTS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP ON AREA ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES. THE COMBINATION OF SLICK ROADWAYS AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES DUE TO THE FOG WILL RESULT IN DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS.
