Winter weather advisory remains in effect

From the National Weather Service:

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM
CST SATURDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD NORTH ACROSS
SOUTHERN MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS THROUGH THE
EVENING. MODERATE TO HEAVY BURSTS OF SNOW WILL OCCUR AT TIMES
REDUCING THE VISIBILITY TO NEAR ONE HALF MILE OR LESS IN SOME
AREAS THROUGH THE EVENING COMMUTE. A DUSTING TO AN INCH OF SNOW
NEW SNOW AS FALLEN ACROSS SOUTHWEST MISSOURI THROUGH LATE
AFTERNOON.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SNOW WILL IMPACT EXTREME SOUTHEAST
KANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI MAINLY SOUTH OF A COLUMBUS
KANSAS...TO BOLIVAR AND ROLLA LINE TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES
CAN BE EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 5 INCHES
POSSIBLE.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...VISIBILITIES WITHIN THE HEAVIER SNOWFALL
MAY DROP BELOW ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES...BUT WINDS WILL BE
RELATIVELY LIGHT WHICH WILL ANY DRIFTING OF SNOW.

* IMPACTS...ROADWAYS WHICH HAVE BEEN CLEARED FROM THE PREVIOUS
SNOWFALL WILL LIKELY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK ONCE AGAIN.
EXPECT DETERIORATING TRAVEL CONDITIONS DURING THE EVENING
COMMUTE INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

GIVEN THE BANDING NATURE OF THE SNOW...THOSE TRAVELING SHOULD
BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN VISIBILITY AND ROAD CONDITIONS
AS HEAVIER SNOW IS ENCOUNTERED.

THIS SNOWFALL WILL ALSO IMPACT AREAS IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
WHICH RECEIVED LITTLE IF ANY SNOWFALL FROM THE EVENT EARLIER
THIS WEEK.
