It took long enough, but the sex scandal surrounding former Kanakuk Kamp director Pete Newman and the sexual abuse of dozens of underage boys at the children's sports camp has made the pages of a metropolitan newspaper.
The Dallas Morning News ran the story this morning of the lawsuit filed last week in U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against Newman, Kanakuk, and Kanakuk President Joe T. White.
I would provide a link, but the story is primarily hidden behind the newspaper's paywall.
Despite the fact that Newman's crimes, which have landed him in a state prison serving two life sentences plus 30 years, took place in multiple states and were done in a camp run by a nationally known Christian speaker, this case was flown under the radar since the allegations first surfaced in 2009.
