Monday services set for Webb City woman killed in tornado

Lois Ada Comfort, age 66, of Webb City, went to be with the Lord May 22, 2011, as a result of the tornado.


Lois was born January 27, 1945 in Doniphan, MO to Orison and Virda (Jones) McKinney.

Lois was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Webb City.

She married Larry Comfort May 24, 1991, at the Bethel Baptist Church, her death coming 2 days before their 20th Anniversary.

Larry survives of the home.

She worked for Eagle Picher for 30 years. Lois enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and loved fishing at the river. Her first love was for God, her family and her many friends. Her greatest concern was to help those who could not help themselves. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

Lois is also survived by her sons, Acel Little of Carl Junction and Clayton Bickford and wife Shannon of Joplin; daughter, Katrina Feller and husband Rick of Joplin; brothers, Henry McKinney, Mansol McKinney and wife Kathy and Lindle McKinney; sisters, Thelma Brown, Norma Dudley and husband Bob, Faye Darnell and husband Cecil all from Doniphan, MO and 5 grandchildren, Kandice Gilliam, Kaycia Feller, Lauren Miller, Jordan Miller and Chad Miller.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lois Ada Comfort will be 11:00 AM Monday at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carl Junction with Pastor Jeremiah Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service time at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Webb City.
