National Guard military police unit in Joplin to prevent looting

The Nevada Daily Mail reports the National Guard's military police unit based in Harrisonville has been dispatched to Joplin to help offer protection and prevent looting following the tornado:

"These are top notch soldiers who wanted to help those people out down there," Walling said. "We'll be doing patrols because we understand there is some looting going on.


"Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment."
