All Joplin students will receive free backpacks

(From the Joplin School District)

Thanks to the Bright Futures Joplin Adopt-an-Eagle program, all Joplin Schools' students will find a backpack filled with school supplies sitting on their desk the first day of school.

Contributions to the Adopt-an-Eagle program are still needed. It only costs $40 to give a Joplin student all the supplies they need to start school. Please consider contributing to this important program.

that is soo awesome! It relieves some of the stress from us parents of having to go in search of supplies when we are still trying to get supplies for everyday lives

Hi, We'd love some information on how to contact this group (or another similar) to help out. Our family had the good fortune to be passing through I-44 on that day, and we took cover in the Cracker Barrel at I-44 and Rangeline Road moments before the storm hit. (Our local news did a story on us - http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/may/25/no-headline---26a0xjoplin )
We think about Joplin every day and wish we could do more than the little bits we've been able to send through various charities.
