State GOP committee passes resolution honoring 9-11 victims

(From the Missouri Republican State Committee)

The Missouri Republican State Committee today passed a resolution remembering the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and thanking the men and women of our armed forces who have served this nation. This weekend marks ten years since the attacks.

“Ten years ago, nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the deadliest attack ever to occur on U.S. soil,” said David Cole, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party. “So as we mark this tragic anniversary, we remember the victims of that terrible day. We honor those who risked their lives to help others. We thank the men and women of our US armed forces, along with their families, who have served this nation with honor and dignity over the past decade. And we recommit ourselves to safeguarding our shores and defending freedom around the world.”

The resolution, introduced by District 34 Committeeman James Rooney at the regular meeting of the Missouri Republican State Committee, passed unanimously. Rooney is a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1980-1987. He is currently employed by Northrop Grumman at Ft Leavenworth, KS, supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program.
