Block Party celebration to be held at Hope House

(From Midwest Quality Construction)

Midwest Quality Construction is pleased to announce they are hosting a Block Party this Sunday November 20th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 2131 Park Place. The new home, dubbed the “Hope House” was built in Joplinʼs recovery zone and is the first of many that will be built by MQC. The Block Party will include free hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and door prizes. Tours will be given of the new “Hope House” and of the 2nd home “Spirit House” now nearing completion.

“This Block Party is really a celebration,” Shawn Kinnaird said. “We discovered the former neighbors hosted Block Parties on this street for years before the tornado destroyed the neighborhood. We felt hosting a Block Party after we built the first home would give the neighbors a moment to celebrate recovery, and start a new chapter in Joplinʼs history.”

After the tornado hit, the Kinnairds picked up their lives in Springfield, packed their equipment, and heeded the call to help rebuild Joplin. Spending their time not in their home just outside of Springfield, but in a fifth wheel trailer, the Kinnairds are digging in and helping the community rebuild. With friends and colleagues in the area, Joplin is more than a neighboring city to the Kinnairds; it is a place that people they care about call home.

With the tagline, “We Believe”, Midwest Quality Construction has a strong belief in their friends and neighbors in Joplin, and have lined up fellow “Believers” to support them in their work, including Meeks, James River Lawn Care, Flood Heating & Air, Coatney Framing, 3G Masonry, and more.

“When we came, it was because we believe Joplin will come back, will be rebuilt, will be bigger and better than ever,” Kinnaird said. “The Believers teamed up with us, because they believe that as well. They are jumping in and helping us get things accomplished quickly, so that we can provide homes. We all believe in Joplin, and know that Joplin can and will come back.”

Having made a name for himself in quality home construction in the Springfield area for a number of years, Shawn Kinnaird will continue his construction work in Joplin, while Kim will be busy selling the properties. An accomplished Realtor with a thriving business back in Springfield, Kim will represent MQC properties through her company, Team 24- 7 Realtors, part of Murney Associates. MQC currently has six home lots in Joplin and Carl Junction, and plans to not only continue to build spec homes, but expand that to build and design custom homes. As a family owned and operated company, MQC is excited to play a part in Joplin’s rebuilding process, and looks forward to the next few years where they too will call Joplin home.
