Springfield sets strict student/teacher communication policy

If Springfield students are doing homework at midnight or are facing serious problems and need to talk to a trusted teacher, they are just going to have to wait.

A new policy put into effect by the Springfield School Board prohibits any communications between teachers and students between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The policy, which went into effect immediately after it was passed, also prohibits any communication between teachers and students that is not on school equipment (computers, phones) so that communication can be monitored by school officials.

Of course, one thing that is never mentioned when these kinds of draconian rules are put into effect- The only ones who will obey them are the teachers who would never dream of crossing the line anyway, the ones who can actually provide a positive influence.

American culture is nothing but fear and suspicion of each other. How sad.
