Senate Committee passes Jane Cunningham teacher tenure repeal bill

Jane Cunningham's anti-teacher, anti-public school agenda moved forward Tuesday as her General Laws Committee (not the Senate Education Committee) passed the committee substitute for her SB 806, which would remove tenure for all Missouri teachers. The bill also eliminates seniority as a factor when reductions have to be made and mandates that at least 50 percent of a teacher's evaluation should be based on student test scores. Under the Cunningham bill, school districts would not be allowed to work with employees to design evaluation systems through collective bargaining. Rex Sinquefield is certainly getting his money's worth from this year's legislature.

Sometimes, not often, Rush Limbaugh's choice of words just seems to be appropriate.
