Akin: We need to change direction on economic policy

Congressman Todd Akin, R-Mo., a candidate for U. S. Senate, issued the following statement after the release of unemployment statistics today:

"Today's report by the Department of Labor showing lackluster job growth as well as continued high unemployment shows yet again that the economic policies of President Obama and his Democratic allies are failing our country. We need to change direction and focus on economic policies that will actually grow our economy and put people back to work. We don't need more of the same failed policies from this President; we need pro-jobs, pro-growth policies like those outlined by House Republicans. We have passed over 20 pro-jobs, pro-growth bills that are now stuck in the Senate. It is time to work to move those bills forward to improve our economy."
