Ed Martin files ethics complaint against Nixon, Missouri Democratic Party

Republican Attorney General candidate Ed Martin is hoping to capitalize on the scandal that became public with the guilty plea of former Gov. Roger Wilson last week. His campaign issued the following news release today.

Today, Ed Martin filed a complaint against Jay Nixon and the other participants in the money-laundering scheme.
"With guilty pleas and confessed-to facts that show that Jay Nixon cronies were making secret deals to funnel money and hide the identity of donors in violation of state laws, Missourians want answers about who broke Missouri state laws and want the law-breakers held accountable", said Ed Martin.  "Whether due to his own legal problems in abiding by campaign finance laws or his unwillingness to cross his patron Nixon, Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster has refused to enforce the law and, in his place, I will act to protect Missourians."

Last week, former Governor and St. Louis Attorney, Roger Wilson, pled guilty to a scheme of funneling money to the Missouri Democrat Party to benefit the Jay Nixon campaign.  Part of the scheme included concealing the actual identity of the contributor, which may violate Missouri law.
