The Joplin School District's $62 million bond issue passed by 45 votes, even though it lost in Jasper County.
The margin victory came from those on the Newton County side of the district.
Jasper County had 3,656 yes votes for 55.9 percent to 2,884 against it, 44.1 percent.
In Newton County it was 1326 yes and 771 no or approximately two-thirds of the vote. More to come.
