Joplin's development firm for tornado area behind schedule with Amarillo project

The Sugar Land, Texas, based Wallace Bajjali firm, which was hired earlier this month by the city of Joplin to oversee development of the area affected by the May 22 tornado, has run into some difficulties with a project in Amarillo, according to Amarillo.com:

A project timeline Wallace Bajjali Development Partners presented to the city of Amarillo in August listed a spring ground-breaking for the $69.3-million convention center hotel, with late 2012 construction starts for a $30.3-million stadium and $13.4-million parking garage.
Instead, progress continues at a lawyer’s pace, as city and Wallace Bajjali representatives pore over stacks of legal documents setting terms for the project, its performance and the rights of the city and its private partners in the venture for the next several decades.
