Bond set in Joplin tornado fraud cases

Bond has been set for two people charged by Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster with defrauding Joplin homeowners after the May 22 tornado.

Jasper County online records indicate bond has been set at $50,000 for Jeffrey Wolfson, Osage Beach, and $25,000 for Gloria Diane Schoeller, 57, Springfield.

A 9 a.m. June 11 hearing has been scheduled in Laclede County for Ms. Schoeller, who is charged in that county with interference with or avoidance of a criminal investigation into unlawful merchandising practices.

The two are charged with taking $38,000 from Joplin homeowners by taking their insurance checks and never providing any of the services they had promised.
