News outlets from across the state received recognition last weekend for their coverage of the May 22, 2011, Joplin Tornado.
The biggest shock came in the spot news category for radio in medium markets where KTTS of Springfield took first place for its coverage while the raw, dramatic coverage that I and thousands of people in this area heard from KZRG received a certificate of merit, or second place.

It's quite possible that in this case, just as is the case on Wall Street, the "game" is rigged. While KZRG is too right-wing for me, I very much appreciated their post-tornado coverage while I was in Joplin during the hours immediately following this huge tragedy. I did not listen to any of the coverage by the Springfield station, but here you've just got to give the edge to the local station, all things considered. - Rick Nichols, Leavenworth, KS

I can't see anywhere where I did any whining. You appear to be the one who has the problem.

I still can't see where I did any whining. I stated an opinion and I have always allowed other people to express their opinions on here, many of them critical of me. It would still indicate to me that the commenter has a problem.
