Rupp: Obama decision just a jobs program for illegal immigrants

(From Secretary of State candidate Scott Rupp)

Senator Scott Rupp (R-Wentzville) today announced his complete dissatisfaction and opposition to President Obama’s Executive Order granting work permits to illegal immigrants.

“What this amounts to is a jobs program for illegal immigrants,” Sen. Rupp said, “This is a complete overreach and overstepping of powers by President Obama. Our nation is in desperate need of a long-term solution to this problem, not election year political pandering.”

In 2008, Senator Rupp led the fight against illegal immigration by writing and passing Missouri’s strong illegal immigration laws, which has been called as some of the best in the country. The abdication of duties by the Federal Government led him to seek action.

“It is very unfortunate that the President made this decision based on political expediency,” Sen. Rupp said, “We need to explore every opportunity at the state level to make sure that we are not taking away jobs from hard-working Missouri families and giving them to those here illegally.”
In the 2008 reforms, Senator Rupp provided the Missouri Secretary of State with authority to enforce the new laws. Since then, he has been featured on numerous national news outlets promoting strong illegal immigration reform.

Yes a long term solution has been needed for years but Congress refuses to address it. If you don't like it then get something moving in Congress, in other words do your job.
