Humphreys family gives another $50,000 to Ed Emery

I should have waited a few hours to write my Ed Emery story. The former state representative now has even more money than when I wrote earlier this morning.

Records just posted on the Missouri Ethics Commission indicate Joplin's Humphreys family (TAMKO) has given another $50,000 to the Lamar Republican who is running against Rep. Scott Largent, R-Clinton, for state senate.

The newest contribution came from the Virginia wing of the Humphreys family, Sarah Atkins of Arlington, described as "self-employed" on the website.

Emery has now received approximately $200,000 since April 1, with $150,000 coming from the Humphreys family and another $40,000 from Missouri Club for Growth, which has received nearly all of its contributions from retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield.

Emery does not like the Public School system and has home schooled his children. We need people in Jefferson City that care about our schools and our children.

Is there any indication that the Humphreys family is doing anything to actually help those affected by the tornado? What misplaced priorities! Rick Nichols.
