Speaker to address women's health benefits from Affordable Care Act

(From Southwest Missouri Democrats)

The Southwest Missouri Democrats are hosting their monthly speaker this Saturday, August 11th, at 11am at the Mohaska Farmhouse located at 1821 S Main in Joplin.  This month’s presentation is on the benefits of the implementation of preventative care for women’s health provided in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

This event will feature Matthew Patterson, the Executive Director of Missouri ProVote, as the monthly speaker. Mr Patterson will explain the details of the ACA as it pertains to expanding preventative health coverage for women.  The event will also feature a personal narrative from a local woman on how the ACA has been personally beneficial. “The benefits of the Affordable Care Act are becoming more and more apparent to folks as each additional portion is implemented.  We look forward to hearing Mr. Patterson’s presentation about the Preventative Care measures that took effect in August and the consequences of extremists repealing the ACA” said Jordan Overstreet, Executive Director of the Southwest Missouri Democrats.
