Akin: McCaskill, Reid should hold hearings on Benghazi attack

(From Congressman Todd Akin's campaign)

"It has become clear that the Obama Administration failed to adequately protect our consulate in Benghazi, Libya," said Todd Akin.

"Unfortunately, the Democratic Senate has refused to hold Obama accountable. Harry Reid and Claire McCaskill should immediately hold Senate hearings on the Benghazi attack, instead of protecting Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Claire McCaskill likes to talk about oversight, except for when it is oversight of her allies like Barack Obama or money going to her own businesses.

"Claire McCaskill is on the Senate oversight committee which is responsible for investigating failures like the Benghazi attack. House Republicans held a hearing looking into this, but Claire McCaskill and Harry Reid apparently don't believe in oversight of Obama failures.

"Missouri deserves better representation in Washington, rather than self-serving and self-dealing like we have seen from Claire McCaskill. She claims the mantle of "contracting reform" while her companies are receiving millions in government contracts. Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill seem to be more worried about defending Big Bird than they are worried about defending our embassies overseas."
