Wintry weather on tap for New Year's Eve

(From the National Weather Service)

THE THREAT FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW TONIGHT IS LIMITED TO FAR
SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...SOUTH OF A JOPLIN TO BRANSON LINE. THE
COMBINATION OF WARM GROUND...TEMPERATURES NEAR FREEZING AND WEAK
SNOW RATES WILL LIMIT ACCUMULATIONS BY MORNING TO LESS THAN ONE
HALF OF AN INCH OF SNOW.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
ACCUMULATING SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE OZARKS
REGION MONDAY.
AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 54 FROM NEVADA TO OSAGE BEACH
INTO ROLLA WILL RECEIVE TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW BEFORE THE
SNOW TAPERS TO FREEZING DRIZZLE DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT
HOURS.
FOR LOCATIONS ALONG THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR...A DUSTING TO TWO
INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE. A CHANGE OVER TO RAIN IN THE
AFTERNOON WILL FURTHER REDUCE THESE AMOUNTS. SOME LIGHT FREEZING
DRIZZLE OR FREEZING RAIN MIXED WITH LIGHT SNOW WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE MONDAY EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.
FOR LOCATIONS SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 44...MINOR SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
ARE EXPECTED BEFORE THE SNOW CHANGES OVER TO RAIN BY LATE MORNING.
SOME LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE OR FREEZING RAIN MIXED WITH LIGHT SNOW
WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE MONDAY EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS
RESULTING IN A GLAZE OF ICE.
WIND CHILL VALUES WILL DROP INTO THE TEENS AND POSSIBLY THE
SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE ZERO EACH NIGHT FROM MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
NIGHTS.
