GateHouse Media seeks publisher for Carthage, Neosho, Pittsburg papers

With Steve Boggs' departure at the end of last week (and as far as I can tell no mention was made of it in either the Neosho Daily News or Carthage Press), former Pittsburg Morning Sun Publisher Stephen Wade is serving as interim publisher, but the situation won't remain that way for long.

GateHouse Media posted an advertisement for the job Monday. The new publisher will take over the five newspapers, Boggs had served as publisher- The Press, Daily News, Morning Sun, and two weeklies, the Greenfield Vedette and Aurora Advertiser. The advertisement reads as follows:

An innovative, progressive company is looking for an experienced leader to guide its multimedia publishing efforts in the beautiful gateway to the Ozarks area of southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri.
This person will oversee teams in three daily and 2 weekly GateHouse Media newspapers.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in a digital-first environment and will be able to show a track record of mentoring employees. Revenue experience is a plus. GateHouse Media serves audiences nationwide through community-focused publications and related websites.
To apply for this position: email stephen.wade@examiner.net.
Reportedly, there will be no repercussions for GateHouse Media referring to itself as "an innovative progressive company."
