Hartzler: We mourn the pain, confusion caused by abortion

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4), a staunch supporter of the sanctity of human life, has issued the following statement to mark the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling:
“On this day we remember Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that imposed legal, on demand abortion on the entire country. Since the 1973 decision, 55 million boys and girls have been aborted, denied the chance to be our siblings, playmates, friends, and peers. We mourn their loss and we mourn the deep pain and confusion that abortion has inflicted upon women, men, and their families. As a legislator, I continue to speak in defense of the most basic human right – the right to life. No tax dollar should subsidize the destruction of innocent human life. I will continue to support legislation that would stop federal funding for abortion providers. I will continue to champion the inherent human dignity of every life – born and unborn.”
