The Southwest Missouri Democrats are hosting their monthly breakfast on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 9am. This month’s topic will be a legislative update from Crystal Brigman, Lead Organizer for Planned Parenthood of the St Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, and will be held at the Joplin Community Center, located at 110 Main Street in downtown Joplin.
Coffee, juice, fruit, and doughnuts will be served. The event is free and open to the public, but donations to cover costs are appreciated. Brigman will give a presentation on the status of legislation impacting reproductive rights and women's health in the Missouri legislature, what you can do about it, and an overview of the mission of Planned Parenthood.
"We will be talking about the bills, both good and bad, currently being discussed in our legislature. It is important that people stay current in order to protect their rights and foster responsible family planning policy," said Crystal. "I look forward to coming to Joplin to speak with folks and answer questions about the issues."
