KOAM ranked in top one percent among CBS affiliates

KOAM-TV finished in the top 1% among all CBS affiliates in the United States according to the A.C. Nielsen Company’s February 2013 report.


KOAM-TV president and general manager Danny Thomas said that “KOAM has been fortunate over the last several years to finish in the top ten percent of CBS Affiliates. The February performance was really over the top.”


The rankings were compiled by Nielsen Media Research using Household Shares.


“It feels like we have the best coordination of our 85 employees we’ve ever had, continued Thomas, “it’s really about the staff and, more importantly, their coordinated efforts that made this happen.”

Of the other affiliates in the market FOX affiliate KFJX-TV finished 77 out of its 206 affiliates. ABC affiliate KODE-TV came in 69 out of 212 affiliates. And KSNF-TV finished 129 out of 212 NBC affiliates.


The Joplin/Pittsburg market is ranked 149 in overall market size out of the 212 national markets. The local market includes five counties in southwest Missouri, one county in northeast Oklahoma and eight counties in southeast Kansas.
