Bridge replacement project set near Alba

(From MODOT)

Jasper County Route O at the Spring River south of Alba is scheduled to CLOSE Monday, July 22, to allow contractor crews to replace the aging bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The Spring River bridge could remain closed until late October/early November.
Once contractor crews close the bridge, crews have 90 calendar days to complete the project and reopen the bridge to traffic.
Contractor crews will tear down the existing bridge, which was built in 1935, and replace it with a new structure.
During the work, drivers will have to find alternate routes around the closing. No official detour will be signed. However, drivers can use Jasper County Route D, Route M and Route 43 to get around the closing.
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
The prime contractor is Hartman Construction of Springfield.

Construction cost: $708,000.

Completion: Late October/early November 2013.
