Joplin Globe's page one story on former Sarcoxie School Board member was on Turner Report days earlier

Some of you reading page one of Monday's Joplin Globe must have experienced a sense of deja vu when you read that a judge had ordered a psychiatric exam for former Sarcoxie Board of Education member John R. Lewis, who faces federal child porn charges.

This was the first time the news had been printed in the Globe, as well as the information that Lewis' trial has been pushed back to October, but Turner Report readers already knew the information. Seven days before the Globe got around to reporting on it, this blog noted that the judge had approved the psychiatric examination. The request for the psychiatric examination and the change in the court date had been reported June 27 on this blog, 11 days before it appeared in the area's newspaper of record.

The Turner Report also featured considerable background on the psychiatrist that Lewis' laywer, Dee Wampler of Springfield, hired.

I suppose if you wait long enough it becomes news again.
