News-Leader covers appeal of city councilman's case to U. S. Supreme Court

It took more than three and a half weeks, but the Springfield News-Leader has a story about the appa of City Councilman Doug Burlison's lawsuit against Springfield Public Schools to the U. S. Supreme Court.

The Turner Report first carried this story on June 20. This blog was also the first media source to cover the lawsuit when it was initially filed.

Today's News-Leader story does feature an interview with Burlison's former stepson, who was one of those who brought the action.

The lawsuit was filed after a drug search was conducted at Central High School in which no drugs were found. It alleges the students' constitutional rights were violated.
