Nieves echoes Cyndi Lauper: Squirrels just want to have guns

In a news release issued today, Sen. Brian Nieves, R-Union, restated for the umpteenth time that he loves guns, he loves the Second Amendment, and he wants to bring gun manufacturers to Missouri.

Amid discussion of increased gun control measures throughout the country, Sen. Brian Nieves,  R-Washington, would like to make clear his support for the industry that handles firearms and firearms accessories and encourage out-of-state business owners to call Missouri home. Throughout his legislative career and the recently concluded 2013 legislative  session, Sen. Nieves stood strong in his support for Missourians’ Second Amendment rights and is adamant in his mission to work with business owners in the firearms industry.

“It is frustrating to watch the continued violation of our right to keep and bear arms, which is cause for concern  for many America n citizens who are in the business of buying and selling firearms and firearms accessories,” Sen. Nieves said. “If citizens’ Second Amendment rights are restricted, employers and employees in the firearms industry would  suffer and countless jobs would be in jeopardy. Therefore, my colleagues and I in the Missouri Senate are taking action to protect citizens’ Second Amendment rights and ensure all business owners have the chance to reach for the American Dream of growing and  expanding their company.”

Senator Nieves said the Missouri Senate is dedicated to supporting the goals of business owners and would like  to encourage businessmen and women in the firearms industry to consider relocating their facility to Missouri, as opposed to other states that are less friendly to this important trade. “We would warmly welcome your business to Missouri and be very happy to  see you,” Sen. Nieves said. “I will do everything in my power to make sure your move to the Show-Me State is worthwhile.”

To demonstrate his dedication to protect the people’s right to keep and bear arms, as well as to encourage economic  development, Sen. Nieves has written numerous letters to businesses in the firearms industry, encouraging them to consider relocating to Missouri. Several of Sen. Nieves’ colleagues in the Missouri Senate supported his efforts and offered their signatures  to the letters.
For questions and concerns regarding the firearms industry in Missouri, Sen. Nieves encourages individuals to  contact his Capitol office at (573) 751-3678.

This is exactly why NOTHING gets done in Missouri. Senator Nieves is indeed a navy veteran and he is proud of that. OK. After WW2 there were many, many veterans who went on to do something other than long for holding a gun. Maybe it had something to do with actually having to kill someone with one. I think this mentally challenged senator is a poser. I think maybe he served in sick bay in the navy and wants everyone to think he is some kind of hero. In any event....Good God, can't we just get the hell on with ACTUALLY doing something? How many jobs will a few gun factories bring to Missouri? Would that be better than maybe a public works program? We just spend So much time on the limited issues of these limited legislators that it sickens me.It is time to find the best and brightest minds to lead us, not these mentally challenged, living in the past military hero wanna be dolts like Nieves and Curtman.
