Day Five: No mention in Joplin Globe of pornographic photos of Joplin students

It has been five days since a sentencing memorandum was filed  in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri revealing that a child sex criminal who had been working for the Joplin Schools admitted to having pornographic photos of Joplin 10 students.

As far as the media is concerned, the first mention of the memorandum came in the Turner Report and it was later mentioned on our Inside Joplin website.

In those five days, the Joplin Globe has featured the school district in two stories- one was  a puff piece revealing that the district is looking for a mission statement for Joplin High School and Franklin Tech.

The other, published today, was another update on the building projects in the R-8 School District.

To summarize, a man has pleaded guilty to a child sex crime, has pending charges against him involving three other underage girls, including a six-year-old, and who admitted having photos of 10 Joplin students, four of whom have been identified and not one word has been in the Joplin Globe.

The man who made those admissions, Ronny Justin Myers, 35, not only worked in the technology department for the Joplin R-8 School District, but he was the man who was in charge of monitoring high school students' laptops.

His admissions to law enforcement officers were made seven months ago. In the only statement that has been issued by the district, Superintendent C. J. Huff reassured district patrons that Myers had "no access" to students. Apparently, he should have been asked how he defines access.

I never thought I would say this, but I am starting to miss the good old days of Ed Simpson.

Funny no mention of the progress on the schools in your blog. I guess everyone has an agenda.

Oh boy! The Huffites are going to try to mount one of their pitiful offenses with insults and no facts or data. Probably because they have nothing but a fluffed up graduation rate.

4:30--How dumb are you? Even after reading a document about a pedophile who has pictures of our high school kids, taken from or through the school computer cameras, you still defend Huff? Your living must depend on your support of the man who failed to tell parents that their children may have been exposed (literally) to a social deviant. I don't want a living that bad.
