At first blush and as an outsider of the Joplin community what strikes me about the qualifications of the position is the lack of any experience as a teacher/ educator. Whether or not the program is of value to students in the classroom it will have less value if the person for this job is inexperienced (2 years) and has little understanding of the what goes on daily in a classroom and can see the program and the position through the eyes and mind of a teacher/ student.

It would appear that this person would be heavily reliant on those who are above her/him for guidance and direction. To date that kind of leadership has not proven to have put families and students first.

Jobs at Joplin always denigrate actual classroom experience. As long as the applicants can spout educational theory and have a tendency to brown nosing and spying, they're qualified. Meanest bunch of people ever.
