Governor appoints Sara Lampe to Commission on Human RIghts

Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed former Rep. Sara Lampe, D-Springfield, to the Commission on Human Rights.

From the news release:

The Governor has appointed Anna E. Crosslin (D), of St. Louis, and Sara Nell Lampe (D), of Springfield, to the Missouri Commission on Human Rights.  The Missouri Commission on Human Rights investigates, conciliates, holds public hearings and litigates complaints of discrimination in housing, employment and places of public accommodations.
Crosslin is president and CEO of the International Institute of St. Louis, and has been with the 94-year-old agency since 1978. She was named St. Louis Most Influential Business Woman by the St. Louis Business Journal in August 2013, and the St. Louis Business Journal's Most Influential St. Louis Leaders every year since 2000. The Governor has appointed her to a term ending April 1, 2019.
Lampe represented the 138th District in the Missouri House of Representatives for the maximum of four terms from 2005 to 2013. During her time in the legislature, she advocated for public education as a member of the Education Appropriations, Elementary and Secondary Education, and Budget committees. She worked as a teacher and administrator for nearly 40 years in the Springfield Public School system before her election. The Governor has appointed her for a term ending April 1, 2017.
