Motion to dismiss filed for man accused of murdering MSSU coach

Jeffrey Bruner's new lawyer didn't waste any time.

Online court records indicate that Neosho lawyer Charles Rhoades has replaced public defender Darren Wallace as Bruner's attorney. In his first action, Rhoades filed a motion to dismiss and a motion for a bill of particulars (a detailed statement of charges) this morning for his client.

Bruner, 39, Joplin, is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the Nov. 1 shooting death of Missouri Southern State University offensive line coach Derek Moore outside of Northstar Regal 14 Theater. Police say the murder took place when Bruner confronted his estranged wife, Dawn Michele Bruner and Moore.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 before Judge Richard Copeland.

Why should anyone pay one cent to support the drivel that you write? You have lied about a good man CJ Huff and a good woman Angie Besendorfer. You tormented Bruce Speck for years. If there had ever been anything to what you were writing, the Joplin Globe, a real news source, would have printed it. Your fellow teachers do not support you and it will not take too much longer before the students that you brainwashed realize what an eveil man you truly are. I can't wait for the day when this "news" site and your other sites vanish for good. No one is going to pay so that you can keep up your attacks on good people. Your days are numbered, Mr. Turner.

Dear Anonymous.... you truly believe that an administration that is being investigated for false use of funds makes them good people? They are using money that should be used to help the kids, I graduated almost 5 years ago and have 2 siblings that recently graduated. The Joplin School systems have downgraded so much and the children are barely learning and behavioral problems are worse than ever before. I have close ties to a few teachers and even know teachers that left due to how much they dislike Bessendorfer and Huff. You obviously must be a close friend of either of them or one of the two. Open your blind eyes and see corruption where it lies.

I suspect the guy will claim self defense and will probably walk away with a minimal sentence.
