The opening of the new East Middle School and Irving and Soaring Heights elementary schools will be delayed at least one more day.
Joplin R-8 officials have canceled school for Tuesday, citing weather and road conditions.
The Joplin High School girls basketball game at Carl Junction tonight has also been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, January 11, with the junior varsity game beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the varsity game.
