Winds, low humidity bring red flag warning for Joplin area

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM CST
THIS EVENING FOR EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MUCH OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING FOR EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MUCH OF THE MISSOURI
OZARKS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM
CST THIS EVENING. THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.
* TIMING...LATE MORNING THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AS LOW AS 25 PERCENT.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MIDDLE 50S.
* IMPACTS...POTENTIAL RAPID SPREAD OF ANY WILD FIRES DUE TO VERY
DRY GRASSES AND SMALL FUELS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES CAN
CONTRIBUTE TO EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.

Local media question, why is it every time there is a local fire story on TV, it is Reddings Mill Fire who is on the TV? Are they media whores or is it the local TV outlets are too lazy to do stories with other departments?
