Americans for Prosperity - Missouri wasted no time signaling their approval for the state house's creation of the Bipartisan Investigatory Committee on Regulatory Overreach today. In a statement released this afternoon, AFP state director Patrick Werner expressed his appreciation to Speaker Tim Jones for establishing the committee and shared his hopes for reducing the state's heavy regulatory burden on its citizens.
"Speaker Jones has taken a critical first step towards needed regulatory reform by establishing this bipartisan committee. For far too long Missouri's economy has been hampered by unnecessary federal and state regulations, red tape, and an endless maze of bureaucracy. Governor Scott of Florida signed an Executive Order, in 2011, that blazed the trail in regulatory reform that streamlined, simplified, and eliminated many regulations for his state. Americans for Prosperity applauds Speaker Jones for starting the process in Missouri and look forward to seeing the fruit of this committee's work. This committee will provide a great forum for discussion on state and federal regulatory overreach in Missouri," explained Patrick Werner, Missouri state director of Americans for Prosperity.
