MODOT issues travel advisory for this evening

(From MODOT)

Tuesday afternoon rush hour will be slow-going at best.  Snow expected to taper off overnight, but wind gusts could cause blowing snow.
Weather Forecast: Snow is expected to taper off overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. However, windy conditions are expected along with temperatures in the teens.
Road Clearing: MoDOT crews will concentrate on clearing major roads throughout the afternoon into the evening on Tuesday.
As they get a chance, they will move to lesser-traveled routes plowing them and treating hills, curves and intersections with abrasives.  However, lesser-traveled roads will not be cleared.
Travel Conditions: Major roads will be in good condition by the end of the day on Tuesday. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution due to blowing snow and the possibility of slick areas developing.  Lesser-traveled roads may still be covered, but will have abrasives spread in areas to help with traction.
Drivers are urged to slow down and expect slick conditions on roads. Please allow extra travel time to your destination.
