Already one resignation on Mark Rohr's League City staff

There are no indications that it has anything to do with the impending arrival of new City Manager Mark Rohr, but League City's website says that an assistant city manager has submitted his resignation to return to a consulting business:

“Working for the City has been rewarding in many ways,” (Assistant City Manager David Benson said. “I have learned much, but that benefit does not compare to working alongside an outstanding set of colleagues. I am thankful to have served with them and many others on the City team, from volunteers and my co-workers to the City’s elected leadership. I’ll miss League City and wish only the best for the organization and community.”

Benson's final day of work will be April 18.

Who cares Randy? I know you don't like the guy, but he is going so quit dogging him!!!!!!

The guy probably quit because he didn't get the job. Also 10:58am Randy can print what he wishes, this is still America and we still have freedom of speech.

How long u plan on obsessing about Rohr?

If you don't like what he writes, don't read it. Maybe you should read the funny papers, I hear the Globes a hoot.

2:40 PM I bet randy doesn't want you chasing away his readers. Pretty sad that you actually said "I hear the Globes a hoot." Good Lord have you ever read it? Also it should read " the Globe's a hoot."

10:58 is trying to shut randy up because 10:58 knows that there is a pending election that hinges on truth about rohr getting to the public. 10:58 is trying to help shape the election just like the globe is. you will not see any days between now and election day that the globe and people like 10:58 try to hide the fact that rohr was just another city employee and not even a very good manager of people.

the guy in league city is a smart man.

All:

I just became aware of this post and related comments earlier this week and feel it's important that I let you know my choice to leave League City's employ had nothing to do with Mark Rohr's hiring. If it did, I wouldn't have given notice in a manner that keeps me in League City past Mark's arrival (during the three weeks I'm to work for him, I plan to do everything I can to foster success for him and League City). Beyond that, I would never make such an important life decision based on what people say about someone on the Internet, because it's always possible that folks can get things wrong (as an example, the individual who speculated that I was disappointed in not being selected for the job is incorrect -- I didn't apply for the job, and so I would have been very surprised to have been selected). I'm not here to engage or provoke anybody; I just don't want my decision to be misinterpreted as any kind of reflection on Mark's pending arrival. I wish him and League City all the best. And as someone whose family comes from places like Carl Junction and Quapaw and Picher (a generation or so back), I wish the same for the people of Joplin as you continue recovering from the horrible tragedy of 2011. Good luck as you go forward.
