Genevieve Williams announces candidacy for 7th District Congressional seat

A Democratic primary for the Seventh District Congressional seat has been assured with the announcement a few minutes ago by Genevieve Williams of Neosho that she will run.

Miss Williams will face Jim Evans, who lost to incumbent Republican Billy Long in the 2012 race.

Miss Williams was the creator of the Joplin Tornado Info Facebook site, which played a critical role in coordinating information after the May 22, 2011, disaster.
