Looks like money bought a few thousand votes. Sad Joplin has been reduced to this. Supporting a man with Woolstons ethics just proves no one in town knows what the hell is going on and apparently dont care! The Globe allowed constant praise of them but wouldnt post other voices. Equal time wasnt granted and Carol Stark got what she wanted.
Tommy c... Woolston wasn't the first choice of any but he was far better than the crook Jim west was and is, the abomination that Trisha Raney became and well... Harvey Hutchison... Not much of a choice of 4 so people probably obviously felt their only other choice was woolston. But I think it shows in the votes that if there had been a NEW highly respected individual like Stanley or Lewis, that they would have beaten woolston out of office and we would have had a nice clean slate of new council members
I'm hopeful Stanley plus Lewis will help break up the bloc voting. Woolston swindled people and supported a wife-beater and got re-elected. Seibert supported a wife-beater and got re-elected and Golden voted to oust the wife-beater and he got the heave ho.
Glad to see West not get elected, he had an agenda going in.
Not sure where the power will lie with this new group but it should be interesting moving forward.
The Globe didn't do their job. The average voter didn't pay attention to details. Had they read the investigators report they would have seen that Mike Woolston called people stupid for rebuilding right after the tornado. Money and lies won out. If they think there was a voting block now just wait. Voters will live to regret not paying attention.
The Justice for Joplin FB page refers to Gary Shaw as "a man of impeccable character, spiritual strength and wisdom"......
I do not believe he displayed any of those traits when advising a recently beaten Lois Rohr to stay out of Mark Rohr's way and that he (Mark) was under a lot of stress that she couldn't understand in a post tornado post beating conversation.
Who are these delusional people that continue to support Rohr?
